Dear Pete,
perhaps the best way to do all those wagons might be a production line.
Several people each doing a specific task before passing it to the next in line.
A couple of people fitting buffers someone adding wheels another couplings. etc etc.
Wasn’t Adam smith and his idea of “division of Labour”?
