This is Just Like The Real Thing!
When we went to test a new loco today we found that the coal train would not move. After geting round that back we found out what was wrong. A HOT BOX OR IN FACT TWO! Just goes to show how real we can get.

What i can say is look at the wagon body not a mark. There was enough heat to melt the white metel castings and the slaters wheels but has not touched the wagon body! I asked all the time about can you run our wagons in the garden or sunshine effect them Now you know what cant speak cant lie.

Andy , i came from Avonmouth one evening heading for Aberthaw power station via Charfeild and was stopped at S t Jnc with a suspected hot box, the signalman at Caldicot crossing had noticed a loud sqeeling going by his box and had seen the bearing glowing, i walked back towards the end of the train (which is where they allways are arn’t they) and could see a bright light on one of the HTA’S i thought it was the shunters bardic but when i got closer it was the bearing face glowing , never ever seen one like that before or since !!.

It does look a bit mad! Both ends as well. The question is, what was the cause? I’ll have a guess at a high restistance short….DCC carries quite a high current doesn’t it?
